High-Availability & Disaster Recovery
Remote data replication is a critical component of any plan that
will allow an enterprise to rapidly recover from a major interruption.
Furthermore, increases in regulatory requirements and data security
concerns have driven the need for more robust data protection and
operational recovery strategies in Disaster Recovery (DR) planning.
Asynchronous block-level mirroring of data to a remote site offers a
number of benefits:
- Hardware independence; suitable for heterogeneous, SAN storage
systems, & multi-OS environments.
- StorDOMAIN DR appliances allow scaling from small to large
enterprise environments (see column right).
- No distance limitation; supports longer inter-site distances now
recommended by DR experts.
- Uses any standard WAN TCP/IP connection.
- Bandwidth elasticity accommodates network outages and standard
TCP/IP QOS protocols.
- Significantly lower overall cost than Synchronous Mirroring for
remote operations.
- Multiple remote servers can asynchronously mirror to a single
data-center site.
- Combine with automated snapshots for Point-in-Time recovery.

Mirrored Virtual Tape: Sepaton Virtual
Tape Libraries (VTL's) offer Asynchronous Mirroring to remote sites on
a One-to-One or Many-to-One basis. The data can be cloned to tape for
archival off-site without the delays and inherent risks of physical
transport of the tapes themselves. In the event of a disaster, a full
backup of the data is always available. InfraStor technologies is an
authorized integration partner with Sepaton.
