StorDOMAIN Modular Storage Servers

InfraStor's StorDOMAIN™ platforms are storage provisioning appliances with native iSCSI and optional Fibre-Channel SAN connectivity that allow automated storage provisioning, synchronous mirroring, asynchronous replication, unlimited scalability, and more.

The StorDOMAIN Modular Storage Server (MSS) models offer the simplicity of a plug and play rack-mount appliance with integrated RAID storage. Capacities from 1TB up to 12TB in a single appliance are available. Highly available networks of locally and remotely replicated storage can be built on a modular basis.

The StorDOMAIN Virtual Storage Engine (VSE) provides the same capabilities but is designed to manage any heterogeneous mix of external storage capacity as an integrated storage pool, regardless of the type of storage or its manufacturer. The StorDOMAIN VSE then can provision capacity from the pool to virtually any operating system over iSCSI or Fibre-Channel storage area networks while protecting legacy storage investments and reducing the costs of conventional storage management by 75%.

StorDOMAIN MSS: Stand-alone, Modular Upgrade, or Disaster Recovery Appliance

Organizations that have deferred their implementation of a SAN because of the perceived complexities and costs can use the StorDOMAIN™ MSS storage provisioning appliance as an all-in-one solution to immediately begin provisioning virtualized storage.

On the other hand, data centers with established Fibre-Channel SAN's can also use the StorDOMAIN™ MSS as a cost-effective modular approach to tiered SAN storage.

The StorDOMAIN™ MSS can be used to rescue servers with storage capacity problems, provide targets for Disk-to-Disk backup, or provision storage for shared work-group access.

Easy to Implement: An Instant iSCSI SAN

The StorDOMAIN™ MSS requires no routers or switches to implement an iSCSI SAN based on LAN technology. Simply connect the MSS to an existing Ethernet LAN, and immediately begin allocating virtualized RAID storage capacity to servers and workstations on a new, iSCSI-based SAN.

How StorDOMAIN Works

The StorDOMAIN™ platforms leverage three groundbreaking storage technologies: RAID storage based upon high-capacity Serial ATA (SATA) and Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) disk drives, iSCSI SAN connectivity over Ethernet, and enterprise-class Storage Virtualization software.
Powered by DataCore's SANmelody™, the StorDOMAIN™ MSS creates multiple virtual volumes from a pooled RAID storage resource and, without downtime, provisions block storage capacity to servers or workstations running almost any operating system, including Windows™, UNIX, LINUX, Netware and Mac®.

The companion StorDOMAIN VSE can be powered either by SANmelody™ or by SANsymphony™, DataCore's enterprise level storage provisioning software that allows unlimited scalability in capacity and storage connection bandwidth.

Industry Standard Hardware

Built on an industry-standard hardware platform, the StorDOMAIN platforms can meet the specific data storage provisioning and management needs of organizations large and small.

Unsurpassed Performance

The StorDOMAIN™ storage servers provide enterprise-class high availability and performance without the costs of proprietary hardware. Independent evaluations have shown that commodity or mid-range storage hardware can be transformed into a powerful storage environment with demonstrated performance that is up to four times that of some high-performance proprietary solutions.
